About SET Physical Therapy:

Set Physical Therapy is committed to providing concierge physical therapy services of the highest quality by addressing the body as a whole in a one-on-one environment. The meaning behind SET is service, expertise, and time. Our mission is to blend advanced treatment techniques with the values of compassion, empathy, and respect, and to guide patients through the healthcare maze by giving them knowledge and confidence to reach their potential and achieve their goals. Our philosophy is to educate and empower patients on how to prevent further injury and to promote a healthy and active lifestyle through effective movement strategies. We consider additional psychological and emotional factors that may affect a patient's presentation as well as their expecations and beliefs aabout their recovery.

About Chris Estafanous, PT, DPT (@chris_estafanous)

As a native New Yorker, Chris' journey to Physical Therapy began as a high school athlete. Through hard training and putting a tremendous load on his body, Chris experienced thoracic bulging discs. This insight led Chris to see a world of healthcare that was inspiring and life changing.

Chris went on to enroll in a competitive combined 6-year Bachelors of Science and Doctorate of Physical Therapy program at the New York Institute of Technology. While there, Chris fueled his passion for PT by learning extensively about Osteopathic Medicine and Manual Therapy.

Chris interned at the New York University Hospital for Joint Disease, where he learned some of the most advanced techniques in manual physical therapy. He then went on to work at Peak Performance Physical Therapy in NYC where he worked with a variety of professional athletes and worked very closely with a team of Orthopedic Physicians and Athletic Trainers. It was there that his love for Sports Medicine and high-level athletes emerged.

Chris enjoys the patient focused care that SetPT provides and especially believes in the meaning of SET: Service, Expertise and Time. He understands the importance of building a strong relationship with his patients to earn their trust and help them return to their healthy lifestyle. Due to the injuries he has experienced, Chris uses empathy and compassion to foster his treatment approach. He believes that behind every person's pain is a story. And often, clues can lead you right to the source of the problem. The key is listening.

Chris specializes in manual therapy, spine and sports rehabilitation, and has specialized training in the diagnosis of abnormal movement patterns using video analysis. Chris is trained to perform Trigger Point Dry Needling and has been trained in the Osteopathic approach (muscle energy, strain-counterstain, HVLA techniques) to manual therapy for spine, ribs, and extremities. Chris has a particular interest in complex chronic pain, and has extensive training in the biopsychosocial model of pain, having helped many patients throughout his career with the focused approach he learned while at NYU. Chris also has specialized training in the care of POTS (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome) where he implements an exercise and rehab program produced by Dr. Benjamin Levine at Texas Health.

Chris is not only devoted to making a difference in his field, but he is also a medical missionary in Africa. Chris has led mission trips to Egypt, Kenya, Nigeria, and Tanzania. He is a proud Washingtonian and is very involved in local Washington youth initiatives and community outreach programs. He is fluent in Arabic and is married to his lovely wife Heba, who he met in Nigeria in 2010.

About Greer Mackie, PT, DPT, OCS

Greer recognizes the importance of a one-on-one, comprehensive treatment model for patients to efficiently meet goals, optimize posture and movement and even prevent future injuries or chronic pains. She highlights the importance of education during treatment since half the battle to recovery is understanding the complexities of our bodies and the source of the injury. She prides herself on clever, creative approaches to rehab while keeping the experience fun. She has a genuine passion for helping patients get to their optimal level of performance whether it be hiking the Appalachian trail or having headache free days at work.

As a St. Lous native, Greer was happy to return to the city after undergrad to earn her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Washington University in St. Lous. Having been a Division III All American college tennis player at DePauw University and experiencing injuries herself, she is able to relate well to patients. She continues to stay active playing in USTA tennis leagues, training for half marathons, trail races, hiking and snowboarding.

Over the course of her career she has developed a speciality in post-concussion rehabilitation, headache, cervicogenic dizziness, sleep apnea, temporomandibular disorders, and all other chronic musculoskeletal conditions and sports injuries. She has a strong passion for preventative care and believes that the healthcare system would benefit from continuing to push towards this focus.

Greer has worked with an extensive range of populations throughout the country with clinical and work experience in Missouri, Indiana, Iowa, Arizona, Colorado, DC and Guatemala. She is a certified Clinical Instructor and has appreciated training students of various abilities.

Greer received her Orthopedic Clinical Specialist certification in 2019. She has taken a great deal of continuing education including instruction through the Michigan State Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine program and recent focus with the Postural Restoration Institute.
